CASUAL NURSERY TEAM MEMBER 10 – 25 hours per week
Our Nursery nestled in the foothills of Tea Tree Gully has been delivering SA with quality plants, expert service, and advice for 5 generations. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our close knit team. Someone who is confident in providing excellent customer service and provide practical gardening advice.
The role is customer service focused with some physical elements. Including manual plant handling, nursery ground maintenance, general housekeeping duties and heavy lifting.
Requirements:
Horticultural certificate or previous industry experience highly regarded.
Confidently diagnosis pest and diseases.
Must have a clear understanding of plants for varied applications.
Customer service experience, able to process POS and EFT transactions.
Data entry – Invoicing systems highly valued.
Enthusiastic and motivated, provide great work ethic.
Able to complete tasks promptly, and follow instructions effectively.
Can work autonomously and within a team environment.
Able to communicate effectively.
Capacity for physical work ability to lift up to 25kg.
Reliable, must have your own transport.
Available over a 7 day week roster including one weekend shift.

GARDEN CENTRE ASSISTANT MANAGER
FULL-TIME 38hrs
Newman’s Nursery is nestled in the foothills of Tea Tree Gully and has been delivering SA with quality plants, expert service, and advice for 5 generations! We currently have an opportunity for a motivated individual with demonstrated Industry experience to join our senior management team.
A diverse role that will involve leadership, customer service, and daily retail garden centre duties.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 year’s experience within the Horticultural Industry (retail or wholesale)
Previous experience in a managerial role is preferred but not essential.
A Horticulture Diploma or equivalent preferred must have a minimum of a Cert III in Horticulture.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook email, and Excel.
Knowledge of national wholesale supply chains.
Experience with seasonal plant ordering highly regarded.
Assess inventory and sales reports, anticipating future needs for seasonal products.
Strong administrative skills, ability to implement systems to boost productivity.
Fulfil customer enquiries, orders, and quotations.
Provide practical gardening advice, and confidently suggest plants for varied applications.
Ability to multi-task and prioritise daily operations.
Data entry, pricing, and management of incoming invoices.
Ability to communicate effectively and confidently lead a team.
Create and maintain appealing visual displays to a high standard.
Oversee stock management of incoming goods.
Ability to process EFT and POS transactions.
Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
