Mollar de Elche Pomegranate (Punica granatum ‘Mollar de Elche’) is by far the most popular and most widely grown pomegranate in Spain. Very sweet, small tender and edible seeds make it a highly sought after variety. Apart from its superior flavour it is known for high antioxidant, vitamin and mineral content. It is suitable for a wide range of growing conditions from temperate to semi-arid areas, preferring cold winters. Summer watering is required in drier climates. Attractive autumn foliage.
