Newman’s Nursery is looking for a capable 2IC to take on real operational responsibility alongside the nursery manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stocktaking, reordering, and invoice entry, following established procedures.
• Rostered manager-on-duty: opening and closing, task coordination.
• Customer enquiries, plant selection, pest and disease identification, treatment recommendations.
• General nursery duties: plant care, watering, merchandising, presentation.

What we need:

• Strong plant knowledge and hands-on experience.
•  Horticulture cert III preferred, but demonstrated knowledge is what counts!
• Confident with pest and disease identification and treatment.
• Provide professional customer service.
• Reliable and detail-oriented, particularly with stock and admin tasks.
• Comfortable with outdoor work year-round and the physical demands of nursery work.
• Forklift licence (desirable)
• Chemical certification (desirable)

Tuesday to Saturday is a firm requirement and non-negotiable.
