Cherry – Morella Sour

Morella Sour – Prunus avium. Fruiting Cherry.  A sour cherry, often called a ‘pie cherry’. The fruit is dark red in colour. Used for brining, cooking and wine making. Grows to a compact tree. Self-pollinating. Skin colour dark red. Flesh colour red with red juice. Flavour is tart. sharp, sour taste makes this cherry unsuitable for fresh consumption, but excellent for cooking.
